Vote for Site Base Parent Rep

Dear Northern Elementary School Parents and Guardians:

The Annual Site Base Elections for 2017-2018 school year is upon us. As parents, we all aspire for great things for our children. The council is a wonderful chance to learn about our school, work closely with teachers, and help make our school even more successful than it is now.

In Kentucky, each school has a council composed of the principal, three elected teachers, and two elected parents who make many of the most important decisions about how their school will work.  Parents/guardians of our student body elect the parent members of the council. They receive training and will serve from July 1, 2017 to June 30, 2018. 

We are presently accepting nominations for the Parent Representatives for the 2017-2018 council.  The Nominees must meet the following requirements:

Must have a child enrolled at Northern Elementary during the 2017-2018 school year.

            Cannot have a relative working at Northern Elementary.

The responsibilities of council members are:

            Aid in planning process

            Aid in school policy design

            Assist Principal in filling staff vacancies

            School Program Evaluation

If it is your desire to nominate yourself or another parent, please include a letter of interest as to why you would like to serve.  All nominations must be in writing and may be either mailed to Northern Elementary or dropped off at the school office.  The deadline for nominations is Tuesday, May 9, 2017 and elections will take place on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 from 2:30-4:15 pm.
