The Pendleton County Board of Education met October 20, 2011 and one item on the agenda was approval of the 2012-13 District Calendar. The Falmouth Woman's Club was begun in April 1919 and became federated with the Kentucky Women's Clubs in May 1919 with Mrs. W. J. Shonert serving as the first president. Mrs. Nona Fabra Held, a former club president, gave the group a clubhouse to be known as the Geo. B. Held Memorial Clubhouse. Meetings were held in this facility for many years. 2011 Retirees Honored at Board Meeting

The Pendleton County Board of Education recognized the eleven 2011 retirees of the school district at the August 18, 2011 school board meeting. When Anthony Strong became Superintendent, he brought with him vision for the district. As he began to look at improvements at the district office, one of the things he wanted to see was student artwork being a part of the wall decor. A call was put out to the school's art teachers, and immediate response was received. Southern Elementary and Pendleton High School soon sent art pieces for display over the summer. The 2011 Veteran's Day Program was hosted by Northern Elementary Friday, November 11. A 7:30 a.m. breakfast started the festivities for all local Veterans followed by a parade to the gymnasium for the 9:00 a.m. program. Kristen Smith To Play Golf at NKU

Pendleton High School senior, Kristen Smith, signed a letter of intent with NKU. Kristen will be taking her golf game to the collegiate level while majoring in mathematics. Beginning to play high school golf while still in elementary school, she is a five time qualifier for the KHSAA golf state tournament, Cincinnati Enquirer Player of the Year in 2010, Region 8 individual medalist in 2010, Northern Kentucky Junior Amateur Champion in 2010 and 2011. Virtual classes to be created with $498,000 grant PENDLETON COUNTY SCHOOLS - A rural development grant from the USDA will soon allow students in Pendleton County, Gallatin County and Williamstown Independent school districts to share a classroom. The $498,546 distance learning and telemedicine grant was presented to Pendleton County Schools on Monday, Dec. 12, at 1 p.m. in the Pendleton County High School auditorium. Pendleton County High School held a plaque dedication ceremony Friday, December 16, 2011 to honor past graduates of Pendleton County Schools who have served or are currently serving in the United Armed Forces. These plaques were made possible by the hard work of Veteran Bill Ashcraft & Commander Joel Nahari and sponsorship of the John Griffin Family. The plaques are displayed in the high school auditorium lobby and contain the names of veterans & current service men & women who graduated from Pendleton County Schools.
