Superintendent's Message

Dr. R. Anthony Strong, Ed.D

I am pleased and privileged to welcome you back to Pendleton County Schools for the 2017-18 school year.  As your superintendent for over six years, I am committed to our mission vision of graduating every student college and/or career ready by empowering staff to deliver high quality instruction and services in a safe and trusting environment. Our team continues to work this year with students and parents to ensure that we are all “United in Pursuing Excellence!”

Based on last year’s K-PREP results, we currently maintain the ranking of Proficient with two of our schools being recognized as Distinguished.  Regionally, we continue to show improvement in all academic indicators.  Our students’ formative assessment data continues to show improvement, hopefully predicting another K-PREP rise when scores are released in the fall.  Based on these indicators, I believe we are primed to push forward.

The great accomplishments happen due the collaborative work our great staff.  As we start this New Year I am happy to say that principals, department heads, and other district staff have been working very hard to recruit new staff to our district that will carry on our strong tradition of excellence.  In addition, we have worked to establish ways to support our students and families as we begin this new academic year. I encourage you to check out those services at your child’s school at the Family Resource Centers.

We have so much to celebrate and to be proud of as we begin this new school year.  Pendleton County Schools will continue to provide an outstanding educational and extracurricular experiences for all students.  Our staff will work very hard this year to provide continuous growth to our students.  Quite simply, we will continue working to make sure we are “United in Pursuing Excellence” to make Pendleton County Schools a great place to work and learn!

Don’t forget to stay informed through our district by following me on Twitter and Facebook.  Those links are @PCNewspage and Pendleton Co. Superintendent Anthony Strong for the most up to date information.   I look forward to seeing you during this new school year.  It’s going to be a GREAT year!
