Input Needed on District Improvement Plan

Pendleton County Schools would like your input on our Comprehensive District Improvement Plan.  Please click on the link below to view a draft copy of our plan.  If you would like to review a hard copy of the plan, please stop by Central Office between the hours of 8:30 and 4:30 and one will be provided for you. Any suggestions can be emailed to laura.pugh@pendleton.kyschools.us

All suggestions are needed by 9:00 a.m. Monday, December 9th.  Thank you.

Preschool Screenings


PCS Hosts Community-Wide Veterans Day Celebration
   A wonderful celebration for our Veterans was held on Sunday afternoon, November 13, at 2:00 p.m. in the Sharp Middle School Gymnasium.   The program recognized area Veterans as well as showcased the talents of the Pendleton County students. This celebration was planned cooperatively with Pendleton County Schools, American Legion & Auxiliary Post 109, VFW Post 1978, and the Disabled American Veterans.

Dr. Strong Named Finalist for the 2017 Supt of the Year Award Anthony

Congratulations to Pendleton County School's Superintendent, Dr. Anthony Strong,  for being named as one of the top 4 finalists for the 2017 Supt of the Year Award by the Kentucky Association of School Administrators this past week.    


Board Approves 2017-18 District Calendar calendar

The Pendleton County Board of Education approved the 2017-18 district calendar at the Oct 27 board meeting.  The 2017-18 district calendar may be accessed by selecting the link under the Superintendent's Message on the district homepage or clicking here.


Pendleton County Schools Maintains Proficient Ranking Proficient District

In a video statement to staff on October 1, 2015, Superintendent Strong said, “During the past four years we have been focusing on what is needed to move our students forward.  Today I am happy to share that your hard work and dedication has paid off.  We are a Proficient District.”  On September 29, 2016, Superintendent Strong congratulated the district for its designation as a Proficient District for the second consecutive year.

Retirees Recognized at August Board Meeting

Eight recent retirees were recognized during the Great News portion of the August Board Meeting on Thursday, August 18.   These employees had a combined total of 185.25 years of service to Pendleton County Schools.

2016-17 Opening Day Appreciation Celebration Breakfast

Opening Day Appreciation Celebration was held Thursday, August 4.   This was the 9th year for the celebration, which  brings our school personnel and our businesses, organizations, and churches together to support each other in our shared mission: to create a brighter future for our children and thus our community.  Following a delicious breakfast prepared by the food service managers, Superintendent Anthony Strong addressed the group and employees were recognized for years-of-service and model classrooms.

Transportation Department Announces 2016-17 Bus Routes

The Transportation Department is working diligently to organize bus routes so that students' travel times are held to a minimal.   Click here to view  2016-17 Bus Route (by road).  All revisions from the original posting will be highlighted in yellow to help you.  Parents are urged to check back occasionally for any changes or updates.  For bus routes and additional transportation information, click the Transportation tab under Student Services.

2016 Wall of Fame Inductee -- Mr. Steve Thomas

In 1993 Pendleton County Schools inducted our first Wall of Fame candidates.  Since that time it has become part of the graduation ceremony to introduce the new recipients each year.  The criteria for this award is to have been a graduate of one of the Pendleton County High Schools and have gone above and beyond in their career to show service to their community or fellow man.  This year’s recipient goes above and beyond our criteria.
