Reading Menu

  • Vocabulary Glossary: Collect 20 words from anywhere (except Amazing Words and Vocabulary. Include the definition and a good sentence that helps the reader know what the word means. You may use your device to compile your list and turn in.
  • Toontastic: Using the app, create a cartoon. You must first create a script that includes ALL story elements before you begin.
  • StoryBird: Using the website, create digital story book. You must first create write a draft that includes ALL story elements before you begin.
  • Script: Turn a part of your fictional book into a one scene play. The play should include all the features of a drama. You may even be able to perform for the class.
  • TimeLine: For a nonfiction book, create a timeline of the most important events from the text.
  • Biography: Research a famous person and create a PowerPoint presentation telling what you have learned. The PowerPoint should have at least 6 slides.
  • Composer: Create a song, poem, or rap for a Math or Reading Skill. Think about the songs you listen to in Math and Reading class.
  • Educator: Create a learning center that we could use in class. See your teacher to discuss which skill to choose.
  • Manual: Create a how to manual to teach someone how to do something that YOU are good at. It should include materials needed and numbered steps so the reader can follow directions easily.
  • Research: Choose a topic you would like to research and get it approved by Mrs. Rust. You will use several research tools to create a presentation of your findings with the class.
