National Elementary Honor Society is a club based on academics and service learning. 4th and 5th graders who maintain a high grade average and who demonstrate the qualities of good citizenship are invited to become members at the the second half of their 4th grade year. Our club aids in service projects for our school and community.
For the 2017-18 year, Southern Elementary met its goal of $1,500 to Pennies for Patients collection for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The top class was Mrs. N. Thompson's 3rd grade class with Mrs. Prince and Mr. Fultz's classes coming in right behind them.
We also made our Christmas Candy Grams to help raise money for our club so that we can service others.
February is our Valentine making day. We have candy kisses to add on valentines.
Hopefull we will come up with some exciting things to do for Easter and Spring!
New inductees will be selected and inducted around March.
