Adoption Heroes by Maddie

On November 14th the adoption day heroes took time out of their day to talk to me about their project. They worked hard and you could tell it. They had all of their information on their board and ready to display. They even had cool bar code shirts that when you scanned them it took you to their Facebook page and told you all of their information for the following week/month. They totally had a great display and presentation.          -Madison

Hi I'm Madison Sullivan and I am here with Lilly Fry and Cecilia Tuddle. What is your project about? "Our project is about adoption. We got the idea because our STLP teacher said that a group of kids last year did puppy adoption and our friend said how about adopting children. So we all agreed on that. On this Saturday it is adoption day so we will be hosting an event at the Carol County Public Library. We will be showing the movie Annie. This will be at 2:00 pm. We got permission to show the title cover because we are partnering with the library that has a license to show the title cover. And if you want to know more you can scan the shirts we have on. And once you scan our shirts, it will go to our Facebook page." the adoption day heroes explained. So how does the movie Annie tie into your project? "It ties into our project because Annie gets adopted and our project is about adoption." When people got to your Facebook page does it tell them all of the information? "It shows what we have posted, our highlight of the week, it doesn't have all of the information but most of it is on there. The Facebook page has the upcoming events photos adds for upcoming events. There is one boy at our school that really stands out to us because he was adopted and he says that being adopted is like a second birthday and he has twice the family that loves and cares for him. Where do your resources come from adopt.kentucky.gov, adoptuskids.org , national adoptionday.org, adoption.org, davethomasfoundation.org , and locally interviewing kids and parents of the adoption program. Dave Tomas is actually the founder of Wendy's and that is why you see drawings on the paper bags and cups for adoption." You guys had a very good project and thank you for letting me interview you!
