Spelling homework throughout the year stays the same. Students will bring home a spelling list in their red "Cardinal Folder" every Friday for the following week. The spelling list will be sent home on a paper that is called a "Refrigerator Copy." This will make it easy to save the list, and you can even put it on your refrigerator! They will study their list and have some sort of spelling activity Monday-Wednesday of that week. Spelling tests are given on Thursday. Since it doesn't really change, once you've gotten used to the routine, it will be easy to remember:)
Reading homework: Tigers reading will come home with your child at least twice a week. Since we are just getting into routines, we are still working on getting to every group every day. Please be sure to sign your child's reading log every night. If possible, please have your child read his or her assignment orally so that they get extra practice with their reading fluency.
Math homework: There won't be a set schedule for math homework. It will be sent home when the students will benefit from practice of a skill we've been working on in class.
Remember to check your child's agenda every night. This is where you will find a list of assignments that need to be completed. If possible, please sign their agenda too. This way, if they forget their homework at home, I know you've seen their assignments.
