Hello! My name is Theresa Adams, and I am the music teacher at Southern Elementary. I began teaching at Southern in the fall of 2004. I have also been a music teacher at Lincoln Elementary in Dayton, Kentucky, the orchestra director for Grant County Schools and a strings instructor for the NKU Music Preparatory Department.
I received my Bachelor's degree in Music Education (with an emphasis on instrumental/string music) from Miami University in Ohio. My Master's degree in Educational Leadership is from Eastern Kentucky University, and I completed my Rank 1 certification through Indiana Wesleyan University.
I live in Pendleton County with my husband, Doug, and my three sons, D.J., Marshall and Aaron. I am a member of the Lenoxburg Baptist Church, where I serve as the church pianist and children's Sunday school teacher.
I chose to teach music because I wanted to give others the same kind of opportunities in music that I was given. I hope to help your child to not only enjoy music, but to develop his or her ability to actively participate in it through playing instruments, singing and moving. Past elementary school, I hope many of my students will continue their music education through participation in band, chorus and orchestra.
