"If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom and yet deprecate agitation are men who want crops without plowing the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the roar of its mighty waters." ~ Frederick Douglass
My name is Eileen Tierney Baker and I teach 8th grade language arts, 8th grade Advanced Language Arts, and RTI here at Phillip A. Sharp Middle School. I am starting my 11th year here in Pendleton County and absolutely love being part of the Phillip Sharp family!
I earned my undergraduate degree in Literature and Writing, my Master's Degree in Secondary Education and English, and became a National Board Certified Teacher in 2011. My philosophies are simple:
1. Every student can succeed
2. We must become life-long learners
My immediate family consists of my husband of 19 years, Gary, and our two children: Zack and Madelyn Kate.
I am always happy to do whatever I can to help my students. If you need to contact me for anything, please email or call and I will get right back with you! Also, please sign up for Remind 101 for updates!
