Superintendent's Message

Dr. R. Anthony Strong, Ed.D

Dear Pendleton Community,

As the 2015-16 school year closes, I want to express my appreciation for the commitment of our students and staff in making our mission “To meet the unique needs of our students through a culture of expectation, engagement and continuous growth so every student is prepared for the 21st century” a reality. I also want to thank our parents and community for their continued support and involvement. Educating children and preparing them for the future is truly a team effort.

We have a lot to celebrate in our district. Every day I am constantly reminded of all the great things happening in our district.  The recognition of our district as Proficient for the first since the new accountability started is just one of the many accomplishments this year.  As we finished the school year I attended many of the end of year celebrations that showcase the successes associated with the end of another great school year.  This only happens because of our employees are passionate about improving the lives of our students and providing them with the best education possible.

On May 23rd, the Pendleton County School District bid farewell to the Class of 2016 and we said goodbye to our retiring staff members. The students have worked hard to attain their goals and the staff have given of their time and lives most generously to our students and we all appreciate their dedication.

Thank you again to our parents for your partnership in the education of your child. I hope that the summer break gives you and your student a chance for rejuvenation. Have a safe, restful and enjoyable summer and I look forward to seeing you next school year.

Best Wishes,
