Superintendent's Message
R. Anthony Strong
Superintendent
It is an honor and a privilege to serve as superintendent of Pendleton County Schools, a district that is moving forward to improve the education of our children. I am excited by the opportunities that the 2012-13 school year offers our students, staff and community. We like all other districts across the commonwealth our committed to make our student’s College and Career Ready, but we are doing this with a new mission and vision. “Our Mission is to meet the unique needs of all students through a culture of Expectation, Engagement, and Continuous Growth so every student is prepared for the 21st Century.”
In order to accomplish this mission we have narrowed our focus to three goals:
· Instruction
· Management
· Culture
During this school year, our efforts will be focused around how we can improve our district in each of these areas. I shared this with our staff at our Opening Day Celebration Breakfast, and now it is my honor to share it with all of you. While we are committed to working diligently each day to ensure all students are prepared for the 21st Century, we cannot do it without parent and community support. I encourage you to become involved in Pendleton County Schools. No matter how much time you have we want you to know that we want you involved in our schools. Please contact any of our schools or district office to find out ways you can get involved. Your involvement is critical to our continued success.
We have just redesigned our website so that it can be a better method to use in staying touch with what is taking place in our schools. I will also continue to use Facebook and Twitter as forms of communication with students, staff, and community. .
It is hard to believe that we are already starting a new school year, but I am confident that it will be a great one. If I can ever be of assistance please feel free to call me at the district office.
