Superintendent's Message

R. Anthony Strong Superintendent

The new year is upon us but certainly the weather is not cooperating.  I can't remember in several years where we have missed this much school by the beginning of January.  There is nothing we can do but make the best of it.  We value the safety of our students and staff to much and never want them on the roads a day that is questionable. As we move into the second semester we will continue to look at narrowing our focus to improve student achievement.  Students and staff will continue the journey we started in August to make our schools focused on:

  • Culture of Expectation
  • Continuous Growth
  • 21st Century Learners
  • Every Student, Every Day

Our commitment toward improving the education of our students will be unwavering, but we still need your help as parents and community members.  Volunteering at one of the schools is a great way to get involved.  We also encourage you to attend school council meetings and board meetings to become more informed about what is happening in the schools and district.  We enjoy having parents attend these meetings and offering input.  Again remember to stay connected through one of our many communication tools. Start by checking out our website at www.pendletoncountyschools.us. You can access all of our school pages as well as find links to the district Facebook and Twitter pages that I use to showcase the many positive things happening in our district.

I am excited about what we have accomplished so far this year and look forward to a great winter and spring.  If at any time a member of the district team or I can be of assistance, please don’t hesitate to call.  It has been a great year so far and let’s keep working to make it better.

Sincerely,
