Superintendent's Message

R. Anthony Strong Superintendent

Dear Students, Parents, Staff, and Community Members:

Now that all staff has completed their professional development days, the school year 2013-14 has officially come to a close as of June 13th.  All of our schools will be observing summer hours of 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. starting June 16 – August 1, 2014.  The schools will also observe a mandatory shutdown on June 23rd – July 4, 2014.  This allows staff working during the summer to take some time off as well.  This is also part of the mandatory dead-period for athletics.  There will be no activities in the schools during that time.  Normally our custodial staff is off during that time, but due to the extreme winter they will be working during the shutdown.

Back to school events, dates, and times will be posted on the district website after July 1st  on each school’s page.  If you cannot find them feel free to call your child’s school after July 7th.  I hope you all get a much needed rest and have an enjoyable summer.  I look forward to seeing you during the summer at events or when school resumes in August.

Sincerely,

6/16/2014
