Who I am: After working 15 years in various business positions, I answered the calling to pursue a career in teaching. While I'm considered a new teacher, my work history consists of employers such as Fidelity Investments and Coca-Cola Refreshments. The 2019-2020 school year will be my sixth year teaching. I am happily married to my high school sweetheart, Donny, and together we have a daughter, Audrey (age 16), and a son, Cedric (age 15). Our home resides in Dry Ridge and we attend Williamstown Baptist Church. Our favorite pastimes include baseball, softball, and spending time with family and friends.
Education: Williamstown High School, Class of 1997, Northern Kentucky University, Class of 2002: Bachelors in Business Management, Minor in Business Administration and Entrepreneurship, University of the Cumberlands, Class of 2015: Masters of Arts in Teaching Business Education grades 9-12
Teaching Philosophy: Every classroom presents a unique community of learners that varies not only in abilities, but also in learning styles. My role as a teacher is to give students the tools with which to cultivate their own knowledge. To accomplish this goal, I will teach to the needs of each student so that all learners can feel capable and successful. I will present curriculum that involves their interests and makes learning relevant to life. I will incorporate group work, individual work, and hands-on learning. My purpose in teaching is to help develop students in becoming life-long learners who contribute positively and successfully as members of society. “Education is the kindling of a flame, not the filling of a vessel.” Socrates
