State research project
According to our standards, 2nd graders should be able to "conduct a shared research project". To meet this standard, first we did some research about our own state (Kentucky). Then the kids drew the name of a state, and I put a couple of research sites on my webpage. They researched their state and recorded data in a state research packet. We wrote about our state to meet the standard "write informative, explanatory texts in which they introduce a topic, use facts and definitions to develop points, and provide a concluding statement". The kids did an awesome job! They are now working on creating a power point presentation about their state. Once completed, we will invite the parents to come in so they can present what they did!
We will be presenting our powerpoints this Friday as 12:00. I hope you can come join us!
